Maddalena Islands

A relaxed start to the day will have you in the Maddalena Island area, located inside the Straits of Bonifacio along the northeastern coast of Sardinia. Budelli, Caprera, Razzoli, Santa Maria, Santo Stefano and Spargi surround La Maddalena Island. This group of small rocky islands has been inhabited since prehistoric times. After lunch head over to Budelli, one of Italy’s most enchanting beaches that is famous for its pink sand produced by the coral shattered by the raging sea. Today, it is a highly protected island. The best mooring places are the almost deserted little beach of Cala d’Arena (south-eastern point) and the Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach).

Caprera to Isola Maddalena

If you fancy some time onshore, the port town of Cala Gavetta on Isola Maddalena is where you can spend your next evening. The town offers shops, restaurants and pizzerias for you to explore, but there are other bays and beaches possible for your overnight anchorage. Renowned for its fabulous beaches, the island is also recognisable for its rocky granite terrain and there are ancient ruins to discover for those wishing to indulge in the history of the area.

Isola Maddalena to Isola Spargi

Swim, snorkel and explore the transparent water of the bays of Isola Spargi, including Cala Corsara, said to be one of the most beautiful, Cala Conneri and Cala Petranera until you reach Cala Grano where you can moor for the night on the protected east coast of the island. Lie back on deck with a glass of delicious local wine and enjoy the peace and quiet that only Regina can offer.

Isola Spargi to Isola Di Budelli

Crusing to the another spectacular island of the Maddalena Archipelago Isola Budelli, considered one of the most beautiful islands of the Mediterranean. Head to the south eastern part of the island to the world famous “Spiaggia Rosa” or “Pink Beach”. The colour comes from microscopic fragments of corals and shells and is a stunning contrast to the greenery of this uninhabited island.
